  • Why would you put taxes on documents and our everyday items that we use.
  • Because that is what we need!
  • No Taxation Without Representation!!!
  • Proclamation of 1763- Drew a imaginary line along the crest of the Appalachian Mountains. It forbade colonists from settling west of proclamation line and all settlers in the west must move.
  • I can't believe that they put a tax on glass, now I can't fix my window
  • Sugar Act and Stamp Act- Changed the taxes on newspapers, playing cards, molasses and etc. It started "no taxation without representation".
  • Shoot us, you won't!

  • Townshend Act/Reaction-This allowed officers to search ships without giving a reason and taxed glass, paper,paint,tea and lead. The sons and daughters of liberty form and colonists develop their own industries

  • Boston Massacre-5 people died at the hands of the red coats. It helped spark the colonists desire fr American independence.
  • Boston Tea Party-Colonists dumped a lot of tea into the Boston harbor. It fueled the tension that was already between Britain and America.
