  • Malcolm Shabazz' death happened on May 9th 2013. He was beaten to death by Palace Bar staff for not paying his tab. This is important because he was the last decedent of his family and his grandpa was Malcolm X.
  • I am the new president.
  • Arthur Wharton was the first black man to play soccer in 1886. he started playing as a goalkeeper and was spotted by Preston North End after playing against them, he joined as an amateur and was part of the team that reached the FA cup semi finals in 1886-87. I picked this event because soccer is my favorite sport.
  • Black lives matter!
  • The Selma march started March 7, 1965 and involved 600 civil rights marchers. They headed east out of Selma on U.S. route 80. then got attacked by local lawmen and went back into Selma.
  • Barack Obama was the first african american president in 2009. He officially started his term on January 20, 2009 and it ended on January 20, 2017.
  • The Black Lives Matter movement started on July 13, 2013 and it is a movement that is against racism towards black people. This movement is still going on today and the people who founded it were Alicia Garza, Patrisse Cullors, and Opal Tometi.
  • The march on Washington happened on August 28, 1963 where native Americans marched to advocate for civil and economic rights. It was as significant part of the civil rights movement.
