  • This life is good.
  • He is meditating to escape suffering
  • What are you doing?
  • Suffering? There is no such thing!
  • Gautama Siddartha was kept home by his parents when they were told their son would be the spiritual leader of the whole world.
  • Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...
  • Guatama soon discovered death, sickness, aged people, and a homeless man. He was shocked by his new discoveries.
  • I have discovered a new way to end suffering and to reach enlightenment!
  • Guatama was scared of being a part of life's suffering, so in order to avoid it, he became an ascetic for 6 years and only ate the seeds that fell on his lap. He became aware that he was not focused enough because of his hunger, so he ate a bowl of rice, which made the other ascetics believe he gave up.
  • I found a new way of escaping suffering!
  • I'm Shocked!!!!
  • Since being an ascetic didn't work, he was taken far away to a tree in which he meditated harshly to reach enlightenment for about 45 days. This work payed off and he became known as the awakened one and the Buddha.
  • He then told his old friends, the ascetics, of his story. They were shocked by Siddartha becoming the Buddha.
  • The ascetics and Siddartha spread his discovery throughout the world creating the religion Buddhism.
