  • On December 16,1773, a group of men disguised as Native Americans boarded three tea ships docked in Boston Harbor and destroyed 342 chests of tea.
  • Boycotting British goods became very effective,British trade had been hurt   Parliament ends up repealing most of its Townshend Acts  The Tea Act of 1773- places a tax on all imported tea coming into the colonies
  • April 19, 1775, some 700 British troops reach Lexington, Mass. where they find Captain John Parker and 77 militiamen waiting. The British then marched to Concord, Mass. where nearly 1,000 Minutemen and militiamen awaited.  They lined the road from Concord to Lexington an opened fire.
