Storyboard Text

  • We are very happy and excited to go to "The Red Apple Country"!
  • Moments later in the train...
  • Why are they all looking at me? I dont like it!
  • *speaking in Zitkala-Sa's mother language*
  • Oh, she speaks my moms tongue, it feels nice...
  • The next day
  • Zitkala-Sa and other native american friends of her are very excited because they are going to study in an English school, and they are all looking forward to this new experience
  • Why are they looking at me like that?
  • Once they get into the train, Zitkala-Sa notices that many americans are looking at her and especially amazed of her moccasins
  • No! Please don't cut it! Noooooo!
  •  Zitkala-Sa's first night is not as good as she thought it would be, she feels alone and scared because she misses her mom and brothers, but the girl that she was assigned to sleep with was talking to her in her mothers tongue, and this calmed her a little.
  • What did I do to deserve this?
  • Zitkala-Sa's had a bad experience when having breakfast since she did not know the rules, there were three bells, the first one to pull the chair out, the second one to sit down, and the third one to start eating, and since she did not know this, she did it all at once, feeling very embarrassed.
  • And the next trial was the worst for Zitkala-Sa, the women's cutted her hair, leaving her sad and chopping of her spirit.
  • And there she was, Zitkala-Sa, helpless, separated from her family and with her spirit torn apart.
