Victor Frankenstein attends the University of Ingolstadt where he is mocked for his interest in the study of Cornelius Agrippa.
Victor uses his interests to make the Creature. He is horrified by his creation and immediately gets extremely sick. He then leaves the creature to fend for itself and remain around his dorm with help from Henry Clerval.
The creature kills William, Victor's brother. However, Justine is the one who is blamed due to a picture that William previously had, being found on her during the crime. Victor knows the Creature committed the crime, but no one believes him.
Justine is put on trial for murder where she is ruled guilty and hung. This causes Victor to fall into a deep depression and feel extremely angry towards the Creature.
The creature, lost and confused, wanders into an unknown village where he is caught stealing and is then chased out. He stumbles into a second town where he finds a shed next to the De'Lacys. This is where he hides out and learns how to perform basic actions via watching through a peep-hole. He is eventually caught and chased off.
After having his wife, Elizabeth murdered by the Creature, Victor sets out to hunt him down. When the Creature is found, he forces Victor to listen to his struggles. Victor then runs away with Robert Walton on a ship to get away from the Creature. Victor then catches pneumonia and dies from it. Saddened by his second betrayal, the Creature goes looking for Victor. He then finds him dead in the cabin. Extremely upset from the loss of hi creator, the Creature then kill himself.
