  • Gandhi is thrown from a train for being a non-white person sitting in first class 1893
  • Gandhi jailed after the salt march 1930
  • Indian Independence act passed 1947
  • When Gandhi first got thrown from a train in South Africa, it inspired him to work against racial prejudice. He developed several peaceful methods of protests afterwards.
  • After the Salt March, Gandhi was imprisoned for 7 months. His act was not in vain, for he inspired many other Indians to protest peacefully against British rule.
  • Because of all the protests, pressure upon the British from other countries, and financial instability caused by the war made Britain release its grip upon India and sign the Indian Independence act.
