im making a storyboard about the mexicans in the westward expansion
These are some of the Mexicans that lived in Texas. Once Texas earned their independence from Mexico, Texas became the 28th state of the U.S. Mexico didn't really like the fact that U.S. was taking over Texas.
You may think life was that easy back then, but it really wasn't. We fought several battles, including the Alamo. The white settlers took our land when we had had nothing to do about. People called the white caps burnt down all our houses, barns, farms and crops.
Did you know that the Mexicans gave up 55% of their beautiful land after they lost the war? They also lost every single major battle they fought. Mexico's army was lead by General Santa Anna, and America's was lead by General Zachary Taylor.
Chinese Immigrants are really like us when you think about our similarities, like how we both got the worst jobs. They were under the worst conditions, harder, and more dangerous then the other jobs. But we still got paid less. We both also didn't have the same rights as anyone else.
To this day I still wonder what our biggest hardship and success is?
FUN FACTS General Santa Anna's birth name was Antonio de Padua Maria Severino Lopez de Santa Anna y Perez de Lebron. Once war broke out, he contacted Polk to come over to Mexico and make peace. However he then took charge of Mexico's forces.
