Storyboard Text

  • Hello!
  • We are going to be talking about the French and Indian war.
  • The war was caused by the French wanting to keep their own land, but the British wanted to move inland.
  • The Indians also had their land and homes taken from them!
  • I (George Washington) was a big part in the war even though I was beat by the French and was forced to retreat.
  • Oh yeah!  I also remember that guy, William Pitt who was the secretary of Britain.
  • I remember when Ben Franklin gathered people in Albany, New York as a first attempt to unite the British colonies
  • The Indians also had some trouble picking who to side with.  They eventually sided with the British.  This was called the Cherokees dilemma.
  • The war had some long lasting effects on the U.S.  If the British hadn't won, our culture would be completely different.
  • There is also no way the British, would have been able to conquer that much land if they hadn't won.
  • The war also put Britain in great debt from how expensive the war was.
  • Since they lost so much money, they started taxing their people without asking for their opinion on it.  This made the citizens very mad.
