In 1824 Henry Clay met with John Quincy Adams and threw his support behind him that lead to JQ Adams being elected president. and after JQ Adams was elected he gave Clay powerful positions in his government. And that led the public to believe that there was some corruption in the decision. In 1828 after four years of mudslinging the opposite candidate in the press, Andrew Jackson was elected. He said he wanted to change America from RULE BY THE ELITE (The rich) to RULE BY THE PEOPLE!
