  • This was the first battle to take place following the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. The battlefield in which the British and American Forces fought during the Battle of Long Island was located in Brooklyn Heights, Long Island, New York. The significance of the conflict was that U.S. forces were forced to retreat to Manhattan, then New Jersey. However, their defensive tactics proved to be highly successful against the British.

  • The date that Battle of Trenton happened on was Thursday, December 26, 1776. The Battle of Trenton happened because of Great Britain and the patriots in North America during the American Revolutionary War having a military conflict (1775-1783). The battlefield they fought in was located in Trenton, New Jersey. The Battle of Trenton ended with the victory of the patriots.
  • The  date(s) of this battle were from September 19th 1777 - October 7th 1777. This battle was between the British and the 13 Colonies. The battle field was near Albany, New York in Saratoga County. General Howe and Lord Cornwallis decided to abandon their posts and that ended up with them being surrounded by George Washington's army. The Americans won the battle of Saratoga.
