Afa! Come back!
Mako, his grandfather, and his mother are all talking about Tupa, the ghost of the lagoon, and the dangers of him. Mako gets told by his grandfather that Tupa killed his father, and Mako decides to get revenge on Tupa.
The next morning, Mako set off on his expedition. Along with him, he brought his dog, Afa. Next, he found a piece of coral sticking out of the water, and decided to practice on it like he was slaying Tupa. Once he felt as though he had practiced enough, he went off on his pursuit for getting fruit.
Tupa! He is dead!
He arrived at the island, and got fruit, but night came too soon. On his way home, Mako saw a fin sticking out of the water! Could it be? Afa falls out of the boat, and falls into the water! Tupa started circling the canoe!
Your canoe, and thirty acres of land, sir.
The shark charged at Mako, and Mako held the spear in his hand. The sharp spear hit the sharks eye! Mako grabbed Afa, and pulled him aboard. Mako launched the spear again, this time hitting the other eye. Just to make sure he was dead, Mako threw the spear at the sharks shoulder. Tupa was dead!
Mako shouts for joy, and begins paddling back to the island of Bora Bora. Men started run to the beaches, shouting ¨Tupa! He is dead!¨
Since mako killed Tupa, he gets a reward for slaying the lagoon monster. The reward includes thirty acres of land, and a sailing canoe! The song is sung, and the ghost is dead.
