Tinker vs. Des Monies. In this case agroup of students held a meeting for a truce of the Vietnam war.
The kids wore black armbands as a sign of their protest against the Vietnam war, and the principal soon knew about it and stated that anybody wearing a black armband had to remove it.
Their parents sued the school district for violating their student rights. District court dismissed the case and said the schools actions were reasonable
IN this case the school district won and the Supreme Court stated that the First amendment does not give the right to express any opinion at any time.
