What's a democracy?
A democracy is where the citizen's vote on who is leader. The citizens also vote on laws
A republic is a state where the citizen's elect representatives
What's a republic?
So are they the same thing?
No, that difference is a democracy is ruled by the citizens, they vote for who to put as leader and they vote for what laws go. A republic however, the citizens choose a leader and representatives to choose laws and such
