  • Hey Rob! Heading to school? There will be a quiz today for Bio lesson today! Wanna practice with me?
  • Hi Liz! Sure, let's practice! Gotta be prepared!
  • The sperms that will travel to the fallopian tube could only have access to go in the egg cell if it completely connects with it.
  • Okay, so the ovaries produce 1 egg which will later travel through the fallopian tube. There, the egg would mature and be fertilized by the sperms.
  • The chromosomes from the two would attach to one another tightly until both DNA are on one another. Then the mitosis process with start.
  • Yes, later the sperm will produce enzymes to break down the walls of the egg cell. The egg cell then would bring in the sperm in it.
  • 5th day is when the embryo becomes a blastocyst and the 6th or 7th is the day of implantation of blastocyst. Differentiation is the process of types of cell differentiating to other roles.
  • So simple summary after the process of mitosis starts is, blastocyst -> Implantation -> Differentiation-> Gastrulation -> Neurulation -> Placenta Development -> Trimester 2 and 3 -> Birth
  • Gastrulation would be specialization of the three layers: ectoderm, mesoderm and endoderm. Ectoderm -> skin and nervous system. Mesoderm -> internal body structure. Endoderm -> linings of organs
  • Neurulation: Mesoderm form the notochord -> Ectoderm folds inward, forming a groove -> process is completed with the formation of the neural tube. Somites and the coelom also develop.
  • The first trimester= Brain, spinal cord, and other organs begin to form including the eyes and ears. Process will be from week 1-12.
  • Yes, 9 months are needed for the baby to grow. For the first to eight weeks the baby is call an embryo. In the twelfth week it will be called a fetus.
  • Then, the placenta development will help the fetus with receiving oxygen and food, and taking away waste from the baby through the umbilical cord.
  • The second trimester= The fetus will start moving and, the ears and eyes will start to move to its intended location. The fetus could now hear voices outside. Process will from week 13-26.
  • The third trimester= The fetus would grow rapidly in weight and size. The organs would all mature and the baby's head would be positioned head down. Process is from week 27-39/40
  • Your very welcome Rob.
  • The mother will later have her water broken and go into labor to deliver the baby. The pelvic floor muscle muscle will help with the pushing of the baby..
  • Oh, right! Almost forgot that one. Well, thanks Liz for the practice, hope you'll ace the quiz.
