During the late 60's and early 70's Characters: Dee- Assertive, full figured, sophisticated, oldest daughter, lightskin Maggie- Dark Skin, youngest daughter, envy of Dee, and scarred from childhood Mama-Heavy set woman, has manly hands. and she is aware of her daughters weakness

  • Maggie and the mom are pulling their heritage from what their familiar with. Dee pulled her heritage off of her long background all the way to Africa

  • This is when the momma gave the quilt to Maggie instead of Dee, because Maggie would use the quilt for intended purposes, other from Dee who would just hang it up on her wall.
  • No!
  • Maggie is happy that her momma chose her to keep the quilt and the Dee is upset because she "understands" their heritage, but she changed her name.
  • Something is wrong with you'll! You don't know our heritage
  • Maggie and the mom are together happy. Dee is gone and mad!
