  • Mutation is a change in the message transmitted by the DNA. It composes our cells, which compose our bodies.

  • Here, the green turns into yellow. The recipe for the color of the white coat of the rabbit is therefore changed. The rabbit becomes black.

  • The last major force is called Genetic Drift. This event is random and accidental. It means that a changement occurs to the advantage or to the detriment of the population. For instance , there are three animals colored differently : white, black and beige. If the beige one fell off the cliff, there won’t be beige animals anymore. We can say that the smaller the population is, the bigger the genetic drift will be.
  • After his 5 years trip, Darwin started to write a diary, about his observations. He published it in 1839.
  • They had 10 children, and they decided to move house in 1842.
  • In 1859, he published the book "The origin of species", in which one he explained that evolution is caused by natural selection.
