OK class we are going to talk about adding/subtracting/multiplying/dividing fractions.
When you are adding fractions you have to have a common denominator, but if you do not have a common denominator you have to make it a common denominator. So if you have 3/5 plus 6/10 you can multiply 3/5 to get 6/10 so now you can add them together. 6/10 + 6/10 = 1 1/5 when you simplify
When subtracting fractions you have to get the common denominator like adding. So if you have 3/5-6/15 you have to multiply 3/5 by three to get 9/15. Then you can do 9/15-6/15 =1/5 when you simplify
When you are multiplying fractions you do not need a common denominator. So when you take 3/5 times 6/10 = 9/25 when you simplify.
When you divide fractions you have to keep change flip. You have to keep 3/5. change the division symbol to multiplication symbol. Then you have to flip 6/10 to 10/6 so 3/5 divided by 6/10= 1
And thats how you add/subtract/ multiply/divide fractions
