  • Santa Anna ended slavery
  • The Texans held a convention
  • The Anglo Americans brought slaves to Texas to work on farms and plantations in the 1820's.
  • Santa Anna didn't allow Texas to become individual
  • The Mexican government was strengthening its authority to over power Texas. The Mexican president then ended slavery.
  • The Mexican and Texas armies fought
  • The Texans held a convention in 1832 because they wanted Texas to be an individual state.
  • The Texans kept Santa Anna as a prisoner
  • Austin traveled to Mexico City to meet Santa Anna, the president of Mexico. Santa Anna wouldn't allow Texas to become an individual state.
  • The Mexican army attacked the Alamo, and the Texans fought against them but lost.
  • When the Texas and Mexican armies met in the Battle of San Jacinto, Texas won and took hundreds of prisoners including Santa Anna.
