- 1519-Alonzo Pineda -------------------------- The first European to map the Gulf of Mexico, didn't finish his mission, some of his men got arrested by Hernan Cortez, was seen as a threat, he mapped the Texas coast
- 1519-Hernan Cortez --------------------------- Captured the Aztec Capital of Mexico City, conquered Aztec Army.Got riches from the Aztecs
- 1528-Cabeza De Vaca ---------------------------------- Had a mission and lost it,shipwrecked on Galveston Island,there were the Karankawas and gave them food and shelter, finally made his way to Mexico City and told the story of Cibola
- 1540-Coronado ----------------------------- Went in search of the gold city,Went to Cibola,found the Pueblo village Fray Marco found in search of gold, but instead, found the Grand Canyon and the Pacific Ocean and no gold
- 1684- La Salle ----------------------- Landed on Matagorda Bay in 1684, was killed by his own men for being a bad leader
