Women's Suffrage was a big problem during WWI. Women were denied the right too vote until Congress passed the 19th Amendment in 1920. But even after this was passed Women still suffered because they voted for who ever their Husband voted for. Women started protesting to get more rights and to be looked at differently then they had in the past.
The Boll Weevil greatly affected the cotton industry in the South. The bugs ate cotton and that caused it not to produce as fast as it has been produced to make clothes and other essentials for The Military and the US. The Cotton Industry was decimated by this bug and many farmers went out of business.
Many technological changes happend during and before WWI. These included a new technology called a "tank" this was a war changing technology which changed warfare drastically from what is was before. Another technology was Poison Gas which caused the most casualties during the war and was a horrible way to die. Machine guns were another big technology that changed the way we fight in war.
Tourism and Recreation
Many people from Europe were moving to the United States because of WWI and the start of WWII with all the discrimination and the US offered equality and freedom. Also people moved to the US for Job opportunities they had dent gotten in Europe.
The KKK was still a problem during WWI and before but it started dying out and more people accepted African Americans after the war was over and they had done their part to protect the country. People all around the US started to not like the KKK anymore and protect the African Americans.
Southern Literacy Renaissance
The Southern Renaissance was a movement in the South where writers in the south came together and worked on literature between 1920 and 1930.
