  • Before volcanic eruption
  • Pre-eruption {earthquake}
  • eruption
  • Before the eruption their was many types of animals including deer,insects and birds. There was also a lot of green, beautiful plants. This place was ideal for a lot of life.
  • After eruption
  • Mount St. Helen had been sleeping for a very long time but  on may 18th 1980 it was awaken by an earthquake. The tectonic plates moving caused the volcano to move and as a result sending it into full on eruption mode.
  • Primary succession {PT.1}
  • When the eruption occurred it blasted smoke miles up into the sky sending magma fly everywhere. This killed almost all wild life including most plants and animals. The only organisms that survived where the pioneer plants which are plants that have the ability to endear harsh conditions.
  • Primary succession {Pt.2}
  • After the eruption a layer of magma had coverd  much of the land covering all of the soil and land where life had once lived. Because of the eruption the volcano also had created a crater.
  • After the magma hardens, shortly after the process of primary succession started taking place which is pretty much when a ecosystem who has never had a living organism on it such as magma starts producing life. slowly but surely it starts producing living organism life grass, plants and even animals once they think its safe may start coming back to this place.
  • After a certain amount of time the animals ,plants and other living organisms will adapt and start living as they once did. More living organisms will adapt and develop the necessities they will need to prosper n this habitat.
