Hi my name is Quincy. I am a nurse working on the front lines of WW1. This is a hard time for all of us. There's lots of rationing and long days working in the factories.
Trenches were a form of protection during WW1. They were dug into the ground and lined with wood, sandbags, and other materials. However, because they were below ground, they got muddy and wet very easily. This made it hard for soldiers to stay dry, which resulted in diseases like trench foot. They would also collapse, blowing any cover they previously provided.
Total War is a war strategy where everyone in a country (including citizens) contributes to the war effort. Women take over the jobs that men used to do, while the men go fight on the front lines. Families feed their children corn based foods, as opposed to wheat based foods. Everyone was expected to help in one way or another.
Women worked in factories like these to produce weaponry to send to the front lines. This contributed to a war strategy called Total War. Lots of propaganda was put out by the government.
Over time the war developed into a Stalemate. Neither side was making any progress at all. Yet they were spending lots of money, and losing many soldiers. Over 11 million solders died and 7 million civilians died by the end of the war.
