- It was sunrise at Nagrebcan. The fine, bluish mist, low over the tobacco fields, was lifting and thinning moment by moment. A ragged strip of mist, pulled away by the morning breeze, had caught on the clumps of bamboo along the banks of the stream that flowed to one side of the barrio. Before long the sun would top the Katayaghan hills, but as yet no people were around. In the grey shadow of the hills, the barrio was gradually awaking.
- There are four main characters in the story Morning in Nagrebcan. They include Baldo, a 10-year old boy, Ambo, Tang Ciaco, and Nana Elang
- After eating Ambo started playing with the puppies, but after a while he got bored and saw his brother playing with the other puppy and he wanted to take it from him . But Baldo refused, which led them to fight . During their fight the puppy accidentally bit Ambo and their dismay Tang Ciaco saw what happened and thought that the dog gone mad.
