It's the time of day where everyone is getting ready to leave. All of the workers at the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory are getting their things packed up, and getting ready to head out.
Until one of the workers noticed that there was smoke coming from a bin.
All of the workers from the eighth, ninth, and tenth floors needed to get out as soon as possible and get to safety. So they all went to the exits, but they were locked, and they had no where to go.
They had no choice but to jump out of the windows. The firefighters had showed up, and had a net so that the workers jumping out of the windows would be able to land on something. Unfortunately, it didn't work. Workers would either bounce off the net and fall to their death, or the workers would fall through the net also falling to their death.
Fire fighters put the fire out as the bodies fell onto the concrete, trying to save them. Some of the workers were on fire as they jumped off. But it was too late.
After the tragedy happened, families would have to identify the ones that they lost. With such devastation, some of them couldn't be identified because some of the workers were so burnt, you couldn't see their face. But sometime after there was a funeral to remember those who lost their lives on a normal work day, and no one would ever forget what had happened that day.
