Storyboard Text

  • Mitosis happens in asexual reproduction, which means there is only one parent.
  • With asexual reproduction the offspring is genetically identical to the parent.
  • Mitosis does not only occur in asexual reproduction, all species go through the phases of mitosis because it deals with the growth of a species.
  • Meisosis occurs in sexual reproduction, which means there are two parents.
  • With sexual reproduction the offspring will gain traits from both parents, in other words it will have half of the DNA of each parent.
  • Meiosis only happens in reproductive cells, so species that reproduce asexually will not go through the phases of meiosis.
