What laws are we breaking?
Brown v. Board of Education declared that the 14th amendment forbade the states from segregating the students in their public schools
We've passed new state laws and constitutional amendments outlawing integration in the state.
The Governor and the Legislature of Arkansas openly resisted the Supreme Court's decision in Brown v. Board of Education. They refused to obey court orders. You guys can't do that!!!!
You can't carry out the intended plan of desegregation you fool! It goes against the 14th amendment!!!
At the time we weren't worried about the amendment. We figured it didn't matter.
