Storyboard Text

  • Oh hello Royce, I'm doing well how about you?
  • I'm doing well just following by the law, and that's all.
  • Hello Constance, how's it going?
  • Not so well how is it living with the King who put all the taxes on us?
  • Well I am sorry you don't agree Royce, but I must be on my way have good day now.
  • Just so you know, I don't want to buy any of your imported junk just so that the Loyalists  can have it your way.
  • Actually one more thing, I have always wondered if you even know about the French and Indian war.
  • The French and Indian war was the war that we the British were involved in.  We had taken over about 13 colonies, but we still wanted to expand the land that they owned. We also wanted to settle in the Ohio River colony, and we came in contact with many of the Natives while we were there. We traded many things with them including fur and many other things at trading posts.
  • Not really ma'm
  • Yes?
  • Yes, Why?
  • I believe this happened years ago right?
  • Wow sounds like an adventure, thank you for telling me but one more question...
  • Since the war was years ago why are they making us pay taxes?
  • Alright I understand about the war now, but I do not understand why you Loyalists are still charging us taxes. It is frustrating, I have no rights because the Parliament won’t let me. I have no say, it is just denied, ignored, and not agreed with. I cannot say anything, and I am controlled with everything that I do. I have no freedom and I am very mad.
  • Well we spent lots of money to be able to trade, and to keep our goods safe from being stolen we had to build shelters, and that put us in debt.
  • Of course, just what I thought a dirty rotten Loyalist that only cares about herself and her people. Not us nothing. I’m sick of living this life! Goodbye and I hope you just have the most wonderful day.
  • I have nothing to say to that except I follow the law, and I am sorry for that. I must go now, good bye and have a good day.
