  • DRAGON AWAKENS
  • Dragon Attacks The Village
  •  Long ago, a hoard was hidden in the earth-house by the last survivor of a forgotten race. Then an old harrower of the dark happened to find the hoard open. Now the dragon nest in the barrow and guards the gold.
  • NEWS TO BEOWULF
  • We are off to fight this dragon.
  • The dragon wakes up to find his goblet stolen. Goes on a rampage, circling around and around. Each moment grew impatient.
  • Flashbacks: Hygelac's death
  • I will not leave my people here fighting on their own. 
  • Soon the dragon attacked the people of the land with its flames
  • GEATLAND
  • I will not take the kinship but I will offer the young prince support and guidance until he matures to be fit to rule Greatland.
  • You must take the throne now and rule our land. My son is too young to rule and has no experience in deafening our homeland against invaders. We are weak without a king.
  • Beowulf was given bad news. It threw the hero into deep anguish and darkened his mood. Yet Beowulf started planning and plotting his revenge. He well knew he was destined to face the end of his days against the dragon.
  • Hygelac's death Beowulf’s rearguard action and escapes across the sea. Beowulf's gifts as a swimmer guaranteed safety and swam back to his people.
  • Queen Hygd offered Beowulf the throne after her husband (Hygelac) died, thinking that her young son (Heardred) was unable to protect the kingdom; Beowulf refused but served the young king faithfully.Only when the young prince met his end Beowulf ascended the throne.
