  • The Roman (Byzantine) Empire started in 300CE. Constantine was the Emperor. The Roman Empire was located between Europe and Asia and was a busy trade route.
  • Constantine, built churches and supported religion.
  • In Constantinople they traded oil, wine, fish, meat, spices, furs, gems, and timber. Constantinople was also for its and golden structures. They hasd stores and could buy and sell.
  • People living in Constantinople were very smart and rich. There were artist, mathematicians, builders, farmers, crafters. They created ceramics, leather, fished, weaved fabrics, and made silk.
  • In 1453 Ottoman stormed Constantinople and took over and brought with him the Muslim religion. Ottoman brought an end to the Roman Empire.
  • The neighbors were barbarians and ended up setting Constantinople on fire. Constantine died during the battle.
