Summary: Polyphemus enters his household to find his food being eaten by Odysseus and his men, and then Polyphemus started eating Odysseus's men.
Quote: "'Old shipmates, friends, the rest of you stand by, I'll make the crossing in my own ship, with my own company, and find out what the mainland natives are...'(Homer 71-73)
Summary: Odysseus and his men created a wooden spear to retaliate against Polyphemus. They thrusted the spear into Polyphemus's eye blinding him.
Quote: "We lit a fire, burnt and offering, and took some cheese to eat; then sat in silence around the embers, waiting.(Homer 133-134)
Summary: Odysseus escaped the blind giant by hiding under sheep to escape.
Quote: "Neither reply nor pity came from him, but in one stride he clutched at my companions and caught two in his hands like squirming puppies to beat their brains out, splattering the floor.(Homer 191-194)"
Summary: Odysseus escapes the wrath of the cyclops, however he didn't get away before his arrogance had the cyclops curse him and his crew.
