  • Violating Neutral Rights 
  • Impressement
  • The Chesapeake 
  • Great Britian and france were fighting a war that treatend to interfere with american trade.
  • The Embargo Act
  • Sailors began fleeing from the british navy due to britian treating them harshly, giving them hard labor, terrible living conditions and terrible food. Britain began searching for thier sailors by going on to american ships but while doing that they also took american soldiers which made america upset.
  • Broken Treaties 
  • Britain wanted to check all america ships for the sailors who fled their navy but The Chesapeake would not allow it 
  • War Hawks 
  • Britian violated America's neutral right by atacking The Chesapeake so the president got annoyed and made The Embargo act that stoped all trade with foreign countries 
  • White settelers moved on to native lands 
  • Britain began to give president madison demands
