We were all excited for the day of the field trip to Iran.
On the bus ride all we could talk about was what we hoped to see.
In class we had read several stories about Iran. One of my favorites was "The Letters." It was about a girl named Marjane who wanted the social class system changed because she thought it was unfair that her maid couldn't marry the guy she loved.
Finally we made it to Iran. It was so much different than I expected.
We meet a nice lady who gave us a tour. She made us traditional Iranian food called Koofteh Berenji, which is pretty much meatballs and rice. It was really good! She also wore a Hijab. The dress code there requires her to wear it. She's only allowed to show her face and her hands.
On the way back home, all we could talk about was how different the culture there was! The food, the clothing, the dress code, and everything was so much different!!! It was an incredible experience. It correlated with the stories we'd been reading in class and it was great!
