Invasive Species Project

Storyboard Text

  • Honeysuckle
  • Honeysuckle is originally native to East Asia
  • It is now one of Ohio's #1 "least wanted" invasive species
  • It spreads by growing by seeds. Birds eat the seeds and then distribute them around where they are flying
  • It causes a bunch of problems like a place to lay mosquito eggs, mite and tick populations, and Lyme disease in humans
  • This is the closest picture I could get to a honeysuckle bush
  • A possible solution is a special type of chemical that could only kill off the plant and nothing else
