Manuel volunteered to sing "La Bamba" in front of his whole school for a talent show. When he was practicing his record machine stopped working. Mr. Roybal told him that he would make sure they have a working record machine for the talent show.
When the show started he was sitting backstage very nervous as the others started to perform. When it was finally his turn he walked on stage as the crowd cheered. When he started singing everything was going fine but he didn't think it was fun at all. So he started to do some dance steps along to the music. The crowd cheered so he kept dancing while he sang. Then the recording stopped. He had to keep sing the same words over and over again.
Finally he had to get off the stage. When the show was over everyone told him he did a very good job. They didn't think he was good at what he was supposed to do. They thought he was good at being funny. He told himself he probably wasn't going to raise his hand for the talent show next year.
