  • Simon Creates his "Secret Place"
  • Simon Tries to Speak his Mind
  • Simon Hears the Lord of the Flies
  • Simon's internal conflict starts when he isolates himself from the other boys. Already he can sense that something will go wrong between them.
  • Simon Finds Out the Truth
  • When Ralph calls a meeting, Simon tries to voice his opinion but can't. This is not because he is interrupted but because of his own shyness and lack of confidence.
  • Simon hears the Lord of the Flies talking in his head about how the boys are the beast.
  • Simon's self conflict is resolved when he finds out the truth about the beast and resolves to tell the others.This ends in him getting murdered by the other boys.
  • This conflict is important because it give something to compare the other boys too. Simon seem mostly sane and civilized while the other boys are moving slowly from civilization to madness.
