  • Roger the boy tried to steal Mrs.Jones pocketbook and it was to heavy for him to hold
  • “Pick up my pocketbook boy and give it to me”.
  • “I’m very sorry lady”.
  • Mrs.Jones kidnapped roger and took him to her house and saw that his face was dirty.
  • Ok ma’am
  • “Your face is dirty go clean it now”.
  • Are you hungry, I’m going to make food for you .
  • Mrs.Jones ask roger if he is hungry and then makes him food and they finish eating, then she gives him money for his shoes and he goes home.
  • They settled in “Tent City,” a labor camp owned by Sheehey Strawberry Farms located about ten miles east of Santa Maria
