  • In both stories the characters are given a way to be curious. In "The Monkey's Paw" they are given the Monkey's Paw to be curious if they could actually wish for something. In "Pandora's Box" Pandora is given the trait of curiosity which causes her to want to know what is in the box.

  • In both stories the characters do something controversial that in ling run they should not have done. In "The Monkey's Paw" they wish for money which ends up killing their son. In "Pandora's Box" Pandora opens up the box which lets all of the bad things out of the box causing a lot of trouble.

  • In both "Pandora's Box" and "The Monkey's Paw" curiosity ruled. But in "Pandora's Box" Pandora hid the box under the bed to try to stop her curiosity. On the other hand, in "The Monkey's Paw", the characters just left the paw out in the open.
  • In "The Monkey's Paw" they have to wish for something bad to happen. When they wish their son dies. In "Pandora's Box" all she has to do for something bad to happen is to open the box. once the box is opened all the bad things come out
