  • base definition: base or radix is the number of different digits or combination of digits and letters that a system of counting uses to represent numbers.
  • YAAASS!!!
  • good morning class! this will be our topic for this period.
  • NUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!
  • YAAASS!!!
  • YAAASS!!!
  • exponent: a quantity representing the power to which a given number or expression is to be raised, usually expressed as a raised symbol beside the number or expression .
  • NUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!
  • OK then how about this?
  • zero exponent: a number to the power of zero is always 1.
  • NUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!
  • this?
  • When you have a negative exponent say, 4, it will be written 4^-2 You basically take the reciprocal of it and change the exponent to a positive one. 4^-2 would be 1/4^2 bu Whenever you see a fractional exponent, remember that the top number is the power, and the lower number is the root.
  • NUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!
  • alright THIS!!!
  • The exponent of a number says how many times to use that number in a multiplication. It is written as a small number to the right and above the base number.Division is the opposite of multiplication, so it makes sense that because you add exponents when multiplying numbers with the same base, you subtract the exponents when dividing numbers with the same base.Raising One Power to Another When one power is raised to another, we multiply exponents : This is true for all kinds of exponents, positive and negative.
  • NUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!
  • I'VE HAD ENOUGH SO YOU WILL LEARN THIS!!!!! ABSOLUTELY NO EXCEPTIONS!!!
  • potatoes.
  • FINALLY YOU FOUND IT!!!
  • fine. this?
