In this chapter the most important scene is when Lillian Jean and Cassie bump into each-other on the sidewalk in strawberry. Once this happened Lillian Jean demands Cassie to apologize to her. Than, Mr. Simms comes over, he takes Cassie´s hand twists it and pushes her onto the sidewalk. Mr Simms is demanding Cassie to apologize, meanwhile this is happening Big Ma comes over and tells Cassie to apologize. Cassie thinks that it is unfair and unjust for her to have to apologize when she did nothing wrong. This is the most important scene becauase Cassie has her first interference with racism.
The most important scene that happens in this chapter is when Cassie tells Uncle Hammer what had happened in strawberry. Uncle Hammer was raged with anger, Uncle Hammer always does what he thinks is right, in this case standing up for Cassie was right. Uncle Hammer wanted to knock some sense into Mr Simms.
The most important scene in chapter 7 is when Mr. Jamison comes over with papers, Mr. Jamison has papers stating that the land will now be passes onto Uncle Hammer, and Papa when Big Ma passes away. This is important because Harlan Granger is coming for the Logan land.
