Stupid rain, stupid flowers, stupid island! I hate it here!
Starting To Help Others
I sent Mrs. Smith up to room 138 and I believe that she has a case of tuberculosis.
Mary was sent back to the Island for not listening to the conditions of the doctors and continuing to cook for people.
Becoming a Nurse
At first, Mary was extremely angry. She didn't completely understand why she was being imprisoned or how she could be healthy, yet still infecting others with typhoid. She did have some understanding of how she infected others.
Having a Stroke
Eventually, Mary started helping out at the island hospital (Riverside Hospital). She was known as a hospital helper.
Eventually, as Mary was helping out more and more (it's not like she had much else to do), she became a nurse at the hospital. She was a nurse there for 23 years.
If you'll just stand there, I'll take down your weight and the doctor will be here shortly.
In 1932, Mary had a stroke that left her paralyzed for the remainder of her life.
QUICKLY! SHE'S HAVING A SEIZURE! HURRY!
On November 11th, 1938, Mary died of pneumonia at the age of 69.
