Welcome to my class
On a certain day of the year 1820, Mary Elizabeth Bibb was born.
Hello, have we met before?
No, I believe not. My name is Henry Bibb.
Mary graduated from a school called Massachusetts State Normal School in the year 1943.
In the entirety of North America, Bibb was one of the earliest Black woman educators. She educated in places such as Boston, Albany, New York as well as Cincinnati.
What are you planning to name the club?
Windsor Ladies Club. It can also be called Mutual Improvement Society
Mary's dedication towards creating change led her to partake in anti-slavery activities. Around that time, in the year 1847, she met Henry Bibb. Henry was a slave who had escaped and an abolitionist.
Mary Elizabeth Bibb Married Henry Bibb in the year 1848, one year after they met.
Mary established a club called Windsor Ladies Club, also known as Mutual Improvement Society. The establishment of this club took place in 1854.
