Storyboard Text

  • Photosynthesis is important to our lives. It provides us with the fuel for energy,
  • How does it work?
  • It's like a factory...
  • The cells take in 6 units of Carbon dioxide and 6 units of water.
  • And then using the right frequencies of light, the chloroplast in the cell splits the water and releases electrons.
  • It starts with the light reactions, which take place in a stack of units called thylakoids. The energy from the light of the sun is harnessed to split H2O. The product of the is released electrons and these are transported by a compuond called NADPH.
  • Next, in the stroma, or the liquid within the chloroplast, the Calvin's cycle takes place. This is the process in which NADPH and CO2 are turned into G3, which is a basic component of glucose and other necessary sugars.
  • So it start with 6 carbon dioxides and 12. When you absorb sunlight you get glucose, 6 water, and 6 oxygen.
  • This is a very important process of life that provides all organisms with energy derived from the sun
  • The end
