The King isn't doing his job. We should start listening to Robespierre, he speaks for the people!
My time has come...
Robespierre: NO MORE VIOLENCE!
Marat: MORE VIOLENCE! "If only we chopped off a few heads."
People started to listen to Robespierre. He spoke for the people and also demanded to put an end to slavery. Many believed he was a more powerful leader than King Louis.
A war started and the monarchy was overthrown. Marie Antoinette corresponds with her family in Austria. Austria threatens to invade, so France declares war. King Louis tried to regain his power and trust from the people
"No more violence!" "No more Robespierre!"
The people of France put their own King on trial. King Louis is executed by the guillotine. The Kings death marked a new beginning. Robespierre thought it was time to decrease the amount of violence while others wanted more.
Churches were being destroyed. The practice of religion decreased because nobody knew when Sunday was. Robespierre now wanted more violence, and others who didn't were looked at as weak.
The reign of terror came to an end and Robespierre was overthrown. Many were killed and people no longer wanted violence. People took the future into their own hands and rebelled to have Robespierre overthrown and executed.
