- Madoc arrives at his supposed dead wife's house and strikes her husband and her down. Taking his biological child Vivienne along with her half-sisters Jude and Taryn. Both Madoc and Vivienne are not mortals like Jude and Taryn, so now both the girls have to face the challenges of the faerie realm. Jude and her twin sister Taryn have both been treated less than by faes, as the years go on they take different paths in trying to fit in.
- Falling action
- Jude stands up for herself no longer bowing down to her enemies, her main one being a prince named Cardan. She decides to disregard Cardan's threats towards her. This decision makes her stand out for better and worst reasons. One of being she is given the chance to be a spy for Prince Dain and as an offering, she is granted protection from all faerie glamour and enchantments except him. However, Cardan's group of friends didn't like how she disrespected him and force-fed her a faerie fruit that messed with her mind causing humiliation to come to her.
- Resolution
- As she accepted the rule of spy for Prince Dain she was assigned tasks to help keep him alive to become the new High King. It is believed that his brother Balekin wanted him dead so he can ascend the throne. This is brought to be true when at the ceremony Balekin challenges him and all his knights turn on Dain. Grand General Madoc kills Dain and Balekin kills most of his siblings when they deny him as King. This resulting in only one other person who can place the crown on him and that is Cardan or so they think.

- With Prince Dain dead she takes matters into her own hand forming a plan. She has begun to put pieces together and find out that her little foster brother Oak is the son of Dain which means he can be crowned. Her plan is to make Oak crowned High King and send him to the Mortal realm with Vivi her older sister. She has talked with others who are more of a higher station to back her play and has the help of the other spies. She even convinced Cardan to give her his oath.

- The book was interesting and also kept me on edge. I like the storyline and how it was written. When I asked myself if I would read it again I said yes. I believe if you yourself would read it again then it is something to recommend.
