  • Over the speakers there was an announcement about a plane flying over the town. Everyone was told to go inside and stay there till told otherwise.
  • Every night each family had to share their feelings at the dinner table. That night Jonas was feeling apprehensive. He was feeling apprehensive because the ceremony of 12 was coming up soon.
  • Jonas and Asher were throwing an apple at recreational time. This was not what they should have been doing with their snacks. Although while throwing the apple Jonas thought that the apple was changing but it was not what was happening was since it had been dropped so many times there was darker spots and Jonas had never seen change like that it wasn't a perfect apple anymore.
  • Jonas went to the house of the old to help out and get his volunteer hours. He is talking to Larissa an elderly lady. They were talking about people that had been released and how those peoples life had been.
  • Every morning each family has to share their dreams with each other. Normally Jonas did not have any dreams or could not remember his dreams, but the night before he had a dream that he could not explain. He told his family that it  was about him wanting a girl to get into a bathtub naked and he wanted to bathe her. His parents had him take a pill because the dream was called strings.
  • Normally in the ceremony it goes in an order but it had changed this year. The person that was skipped and was not in order was Jonas himself. They had skipped him and no one knew why. At the end of the ceremony they called Jonas up and gave him his assignment of the reserve of memory it was very rare. Everyone was shocked.
