A long time ago, King Minos's wife had a son. But the son looked like a bull. King Minos was convinced that his wife must have copulated with a bull. King Minos was so furious! But he couldn't seem to bring himself to murder his son. When his son grew, he was known as the Minotaur.
Yes, King Minos! I will build a Labyrinth for the Minotaur to stay in!
Daedalus! Build something for me that could hold the Minotaur so he can't get out!
And so, the Labyrinth was made and the Minotaur was forced in to live in there for the rest of his life.
