-Economy- The south heavily depended on slaves and cash crops like cotton. The slaves usually didn't enjoy the luxuries of dairy, meat, and dessert. Most of the time, they just ate vegetables.
And all we get to are vegetables and no meat, dairy, or dessert.
-Economy- In big cities people would start to buy there clothes instead of making all of them on their own.

-Culture- At this time, most all of the food was bland and lacked variety. There were usually three meals, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Mostly the same food was prepared for them all but the biggest meal was dinner.
Hey son, ready for breakfast? It's your favorite; eggs, toast, and beef.
Oh dad, all of our food is so bland and flavorless. We need more of a variety.
This spiritual music really gives me inner peace.
-Culture- A lot southern folks liked spiritual, blues, and religious music.
I agree but I personally like blues music more.
-Social- There was a clear and distinct social hierarchy. Wealth in the South was mainly measured by the amount of property and slaves that were owned.
We are poor whites and free blacks that have no slaves or little to no property.
We are the Planter class!!! We are really wealthy plantation owners and have many, many slaves.
Us middle class men usually own a couple of slaves.
Us slaves are treated like animals and have no rights!!!
...The fertile soil over there...the river over there for irrigation and transportation...
-Geography- There is lots of fertile soil and river systems to irrigate the fields and transport the produce.
This is a great piece of land for me to grow my plantation... I'll take it!!!
