Exposition - “Coraline discovered the door a little whlie after she moved into the house.”
Rising action - “On a china plate on the kitchen table was a spool of black cotton, and a long silver needle, and, beside them two large black buttons."
Climax - "Now Coraline saw or imagined she saw, three shapes each as faint and pale as the moon int he daytime sky. They were the shapes of children about her own size."
Coraline is the protagonist . With her parents Coraline moves in to a new house. Coraline does not like the food that her parents cook and her house is boring. She explores and finds a door that opens into a brick wall. At night she see's shadows. She goes through the door and finds out she has another mother who is the antagonist.
Falling action -" The thing had two large black buttons where its eyes should have been."
Coraline likes this house better at first. Later, Coraline figures out that her other parents are creepy and want to sew buttons to her eyes. She decides to go home but her parents are not there. She goes back to the other house.
Denouement - "Several times she thought she saw something bone colour in the undergrowth."
She finds out her other mother took her parents. Her other mother has trapped children in a mirror. Coraline was put in the mirror but taken out. She was in there long enough to know that she might be trapped in the mirror forever.
Coraline played a game to find her parents and the children's souls. After a lot of scrapes and bruises she found them.She went home and her parents were there and in her dreams the children were safe.
Coraline saw the other mother's hand in her world so she set up a tea party over a well. The hand fell in to the well and she covered it with wood. She lived happily ever after.
