The flame cast a fiery glow around the entire room. Mr. White and Herbert White are playing chess on the wooden table when they hear knocks come from the door. Ms. White slowly opens the door and SMA Morris walks in with the family in the space.
Morris tells the family about the vile and evil monkey's paw. As the man tries to burn the sinful object, Mr. White snatches it off the fire and asks Morris if he can keep it. Morris has already told them about the consequences of the three wishes.
''I wish for 200 pounds,'' Mr. White whispers to the paw. Milliseconds later, an alarming crash came from inside the piano, which caused Mr. White to cry out. The wish did not come true, at least, not yet.
As the morning light starts coming through windows, Mr. White and Ms. White wake-up the next morning. Not long after, a man in a suite appears at their house to give the horrific news. Herbert had died because he got caught in the machinery. For compensation, they were given 200 pounds.
''I wish my son alive again,'' Mr. White said. Suddenly, a knock came from the door. ''It's Herbert!'' Ms. White cried. She wanted her son back, and he did too. Mr. White scurries around the floor with the paw, and he finds it. Just as Ms. White opens the door, it goes silent. The only thing to be seen was the flickering of a street lamp.
